The “Giuseppe De Matola Scholarship” was created in 2023 and has always been intended for saxophone students.
It was born in Naples thanks to the collaboration with the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella. After taking its first steps, starting from Giuseppe's city, it now reaches its third edition, expanding to the whole of Italy.
The first edition of the competition has been announced for the assignment of scholarships for the year 2025. De Matola Award.
A competition aimed at discovering young Italian saxophone talents and then supporting them with scholarships.
Furthermore, the jury that will evaluate the saxophonists will be composed of illustrious musicians of international fame.

The Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella has always supported the initiative, where it took place in its previous editions.
