There Giuseppe de Matola Scholarship presents a new cultural initiative as part of its exhibitions
In Naples, on April 12th, at the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory of Music, an extraordinary conference dedicated toexploration of the therapeutic potential of saxophone music for the health of body and mind.
The keynote speaker will be the renowned Prof. Francesco Burrai , an expert on world famous in the field of music medicine. Prof. Burrai conducted innovative studies on the therapeutic effects of saxophone music and other music medicine interventions on a wide range of psychophysical conditions, such as anxiety, depression, pain management, cardiac problems, hypertension, oxygen saturation, quality of life, sleep quality and cognitive status. His research findings have been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals with impact factors, including the Journal of Renal Care and the Journal of Cardiac Failure.
The conference will see Prof. Burrai present the results of his research and discuss their implications for healthcare. Furthermore, the saxophone students of the Conservatory, including winners of the Giuseppe De Matola Scholarship, will perform a selection of original pieces composed by Prof. Burrai himself and directed by Prof. Gianfranco Brundo.
